The fi rst reference to Vlkov comes from 1392 when Mikso from Slemeno and Václav from Vlkov were mentioned. Near this village lies a locality called Zlámaniny, Hrádek or Na zámkách. Well-known is, for example, so-called Sopka (Volcano) formed by basalt with olivine and hornblende. Till 1813 there were the ruins of fortress but it disappeared during the construction of the near-by road. But there still can be seen rests of the original access path. The basalt rock is nowadays exploited.
